Docked in the South Atlantic port of Stanley, in the Falkland Islands, is a historic sailing ship on a two-year voyage retracing Charles Darwin’s famous journey. The 106-year-old ship named ‘Oosterschelde’ departed from Plymouth in England last August and is visiting ports around the world, including the Galapagos Islands and the Falkland Islands. The ship’s mission is to empower young conservationists and raise awareness of the importance of conservation. The voyage includes a week-long conservation leadership training program at each port. The initiative aims to inspire positive change and encourage curiosity and a passion for learning about the environment.
